How is cabinet refinishing different from cabinet refacing or full replacement?

Refinishing means we work with your existing cabinet boxes and doors, stripping or prepping the current finish and applying a new painted or stained finish. Refacing typically involves replacing doors and drawer fronts while keeping the boxes. Refinishing is usually the most budget-friendly option that still gives you a dramatic, like-new look.

How long does a kitchen cabinet refinishing project take?

Most kitchen cabinet projects take about one to two weeks from start to finish, depending on the size of the kitchen and the number of doors and drawers involved. We’ll walk you through a specific timeline during your consultation.

Can any cabinets be refinished, or do some need to be replaced instead?

Most cabinets are great candidates for refinishing, even if they’re dated or have years of wear. The main exceptions are cabinets with structural damage (like water damage or warping). In those cases, we’ll be upfront with you about what refinishing can and can’t fix.

Will my kitchen be unusable during the project?

We do our best to minimize disruption, but plan for limited kitchen access while doors and drawers are removed for finishing. We’ll talk through what to expect day-to-day so you can plan around it, especially if you’re managing a busy household.

Do you match existing cabinet colors, or can I choose something completely new?

Both! Some clients want a fresh, updated color entirely, while others want us to match or complement existing finishes elsewhere in the home. Color consultation is part of the process either way.
