How long does interior paint actually take to dry and cure?

Paint is usually dry to the touch within a few hours, but “dry” and “cured” aren’t the same thing. Most paints need about two to four weeks to fully cure and reach their maximum durability, which is why we always recommend going easy on newly painted walls and trim (no hanging heavy art or scrubbing marks right away) for the first few weeks.

Can you paint over wallpaper, or does it need to come down first?

In almost every case, we recommend removing wallpaper before painting. Painting over it might look fine at first, but seams, bubbles, and adhesive failure tend to show through over time, and it makes future repairs much harder. We handle wallpaper removal as part of our prep process when needed.

How do you handle furniture, floors, and pets while painting inside my home?

This is a big part of what “prep is 80% of the project” means to us. Before any paint is opened, we carefully move and cover furniture, protect floors and surfaces, and set up containment to keep dust from spreading through the rest of the house, which matters a lot if you’re working from home or have pets and kids underfoot.

What's the best time of year for interior painting in New Hampshire and Maine?

Interior painting is pretty much a year-round project here, since it isn’t affected by weather the way exterior work is. That said, many homeowners like tackling interior projects in the fall and winter, when outdoor projects aren’t an option and the house naturally settles into “off-season” mode.

Do I need to be home while you're painting?

Not necessarily. Many of our clients work regular schedules and simply give us access for the day. We keep you updated on progress and any surprises we find along the way, so you’re never left wondering what’s happening in your own home.
